A 3D display using water droplets

Waterfalls have never been used to have this much of fun such that to play 3D tetris game in a display made using water droplets. Sheets of cascading droplets have been turned into a multilayered computer display, suitable for playing Tetris in 3D.

During a experiment at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, scientists managed to project images onto a series of water screens, one behind the other, to give depth to the image to feel the 3D effect.

Each screen is formed by water droplets falling from 50 stainless-steel needles. The needles release their droplets in unison, with 60 such lines created every second. A camera tracks their position and feeds the information to a projector, which illuminates them with pulses of light. The human eye integrates the information from several pulses to create the illusion of images moving on a floating screen.

Earlierly many experiments had been done to made displays using water in different ways but the team said that this new multilayered setup requires lesser manual operations and offers higher resolution.

At last we will say the technology is expanding more and more day by day. Wait for tomorrow and we will definitely come across a interesting and mind blowing technology in front of which all present technologies will seemed to be obsolete .
